Abstract
This paper aims to understand the experiences of teachers who participated in the Creative Crisis Intervention (CCI) program in the Nepal earthquake-disaster area and to highlight the implications for an effective psychosocial intervention model. For this study, the interviews and questionnaires of 17 teachers who participated in the Good Neighbors psychosocial support project from 2016 to 2018 were analyzed using phenomenological qualitative research methods. As a result of the study, participant teachers ' experiences were classified into three categories: 'report of the post - earthquake situation ', 'participating experience in CCI program teacher training', 'experience as a program performer'. A total of 12 topics were reported causally according to the passage of time. Before the program participation, teachers recognized the children's negative changes from the earthquake and they were looking for a way to solve this. During the program training, participants were informed about ways to help these children, and had therapeutic and positive stimulation experiences. After the program traning, the participant experienced self-efficacy and confidence while performing the program to their students. These results show that experiential and practical Creative crisis intervention training had a therapeutic effect on the teachers in earthquake disaster area.
